Meet Matt Dykstra
Born into a long line of family artists, Matt Dykstra's creative roots run deep. However, it wasn't until 2012 that he discovered his true medium – reclaimed wood. This revelation sparked a passion that would shape the course of his life and become the heart of Reclaimed Interior.
In 2015, Matt embarked on an extraordinary journey, taking a break from his craft to travel full-time with his family for four years. During their travels, something remarkable happened. Matt witnessed the staggering amount of building materials that were discarded and left to waste each year. It was a realization that struck a chord deep within him – the need to merge his artistic prowess with a mission to breathe new life into discarded materials.
After settling in Upstate South Carolina in 2020, Matt re-established his business, fueled by the desire to transform reclaimed materials into beautiful, sustainable works of art. Today, he carefully crafts each piece, infusing it with the character and beauty of the reclaimed wood he treasures.
